Ryan’s Story
Some of us knew Ryan as a dedicated husband and father. Others knew him as a spiritual man. And many of us considered him a loyal friend. No matter how each of us knew Ryan, we all knew about his passion for sports.
Ryan’s Battle
From running to softball to fantasy football, Ryan lived for competition. But in August 2009, Ryan met his stiffest competition yet – a complex brain injury. After spending 19 days in the intensive care unit, Ryan lost that battle.
Although he has left us here on earth, Ryan’s spirit strongly lives on through family and friends, and his legacy will continue through his children, Keagan and Kennedy.
The Real Deal
Ryan was a generous soul, once even sharing his wife’s Vegas slot machine winnings with a homeless man. Before his wife could get too angry with him for being so generous with HER money, Ryan reminded her, “He needs it more than us, and it’s the right thing to do.”
Trisha Meece has described her husband as “the whole package” – the perfect husband and father. Everyone loved a good “Meece story.” Well, Ryan, you’ve left us with plenty of over-

Peace to Meece
So what’s the story behind “Peace to Meece”? Always a greeting by gesture, or salutation by word, “Peace!” was Ryan’s trademark. He and his son even made a habit of chanting “Peace! Thumbs up!” before leaving each other or going to bed.
It’s no wonder we now associate “Peace!” with Ryan Meece. And that’s exactly what we wish for him in his next life. Oh, and one more thing – if you’ve been able to hear
Peace, Ryan!

The Story Teller
Ryan had a real talent for telling stories. Stretching a 5-
